Hi, I’m Jen Hand!
I’ve had a needle and thread in my hand for as long as I can remember, starting around age six. What began as a lifelong love of crafting eventually turned into a passionate, full-time career. Over the last six years, I’ve worked extensively across the professional sewing world—teaching classes, servicing machines, creating custom embroidery, and perfecting the art of fitting and alterations.
To me, tailoring is the ultimate puzzle. Every garment has its own logic, and there is nothing more rewarding than solving that puzzle to make a piece fit your body perfectly. My absolute favorite work, however, is repair and restoration. Taking a worn, beloved item that might otherwise be discarded and giving it a second life is deeply meaningful to me.
Tailoring With Heart
For many people, visiting a tailor happens only a few times in a lifetime—and let’s be honest, standing in front of a mirror getting fitted can feel a little intimidating! I pride myself on being approachable, easygoing, and down-to-earth. My goal is simple: to take the stress and nerves out of the process, deliver honest craftsmanship, and make looking and feeling your best as effortless as possible.
Rooted in North Georgia
Born and raised right here in Clarkesville, I’m proud to bring high-quality, convenient tailoring services back home to my community. When I’m not behind the sewing machine (or busy knitting, crocheting, and felting!), you can usually find me out in the garden, birdwatching, or relaxing with a good video game.
Whether you need a quick seam repair, custom fitting, or mobile house call, I can’t wait to work with you!
